ABOUT US
Pe-Car Farms is located in Skaneteales, New York and was established in 1950 by Scott and Doris Cargile, Craig's grandparents. It operated as a family-run dairy farm that milked registered Guernsey cattle for 63 years. For those of you who do not know this fun fact, the farm’s name is actually a reflection of them! "Pe-Car" is a mashup between their last names, Peters (Doris’ maiden name) and Cargile. In the spring of 2013, the Cargiles decided to make a transition to raising beef cattle, yet remain true to the devotion and passion upon which the farm was founded. Today, Pe-Car Farms continues to harvest 200 acres of corn, hay, and soy beans, along with raising 50-100 beef animals at any one time.
Craig Cargile, current owner and operator of Pe-Car Farms, graduated from Morrisville State College in 2008 with a Bachelor's degree in Animal Science. He married his wife, Kelly, in August 2012, and together, they aim to continue the Pe-Car dedication to farming for the next generation.
The latest project they completed together as partners was building a custom processing facility at the farm! In 2021, ground broke for the building and was finalized in 2022. Craig now works full-time at the farm caring for our animals and running the shop, while Kelly is a special education teacher and manages all the "behind-the-scenes" operations for the farm.
