Pe-Car Farms naturally raises Angus and Hereford breeds on 50 acres of pasture until they reach about 1,000 pounds. Thereafter, they are supplemented with our farm grown grain until the target slaughter weight of 1,200 pounds is reached. We choose to finish our animals on grain, as well as aim for the particular body condition described above, as it enables us to achieve correct sized steaks that are not only tender, but yield great flavor and marbling. HOW BEEF SHARES ARE PURCHASED
Pe-Car Farms currently sells quarter, half, and whole sides of beef. Beef shares are sold by the hanging carcass weight - the weight of a carcass after the hide and internal organs have been removed. The hanging weight will typically be about 60% of the live weight. Thus, if an animal's live weight is 1,200 pounds the hanging weight would be 720 pounds. Customers are then charged per pound for that hanging weight. Our current pricing can be found below.
Customers interested in purchasing beef by the side will be asked to fill out a cut sheet specifying desired cuts, as well as provide a $200 deposit. Click the button to download a copy of our beef cut sheet.

Includes: 15-20 pounds ground beef, a variety of steaks and roasts, stew meat, and short ribs.
Approximately 50-60 pounds take-home meat for $300-$325.
